For me, Hritaal is just like my child. I have been nourishing this beautiful child, “Hritaal,” with a very special affection and care for the last 21 years. We have passed two decades, but concepts remain the same, though two generations have changed with different dreams and aspirations. Elements like knowledge, wisdom, love, and experience helped us grow more.

We give shelter to many little hearts—little dreams each year—who learn, grow, and glow with Uday Shankar Dance style and go ahead in life. Again, a new group of young dreams comes, and the process is continuous. With firm feet, we are welcoming this process warmly and sheltering like a tree with deep roots of culture.

Time flies, the life circle goes on, and so our legacy of Guru Shishya parampara teaching and learning is also going on …..

Sikshha

Following the footsteps of the maestro, Uday Shankar,we mainly showcase the Indian Contemporary form of dance aesthetically choreographed by Shri Jaydeep Palit with our cultural legacy of dance grammar.

Hritaal is not only a dance institution; here we try to teach how to be a good human being. The basic etiquette of punctuality, being disciplined, and being respectful to others are inculcated to help young Hritaalians in different aspects of life.

Every year, students are evaluated through an examination system by external judges, trained teachers, and Shri Jaydeep Palit himself. Accordingly, they are promoted and rewarded for the next stage. Certification at different levels is also awarded.

Regular intercultural workshops, experimental choreography, and extensive theoretical discussion are part of our curriculum.

Here, a disciple not only becomes a dancer but also learns to do everything by himself. Starting from making your own costumes and ornaments, the concept of colours, and the usage of lights on stage, these technical parts are also groomed to make the disciple into a proper artist.
